Abstract

In this article, the results of studies of the effect of mineral nutrition, protection systems, and foliar fertilization on the formation of biometric parameters of spring barley under the conditions of the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe are presented. It was found that the application of mineral fertilizers significantly increases the number of productive stems, resulting in a 16,4–22,3 % increase depending on the fertilization scheme and crop protection methods. The highest stem density (up to 519 stems/m²) was formed when N40P40K40 was applied in combination with split nitrogen fertilization (N30 applied to the root zone), complex protection, and the use of biostimulants. The additional use of potassium humate and the Yarylo “Super Nitrogen” preparation resulted in a further increase in productive stem density of 3,0–11,0 % compared to the basic variants. Plant height varied within a relatively small range, indicating a moderate response to the factors studied. The maximum linear growth of spring barley plants (up to 6,5 %) was observed under intensive fertilization with split nitrogen applications and comprehensive protection involving foliar applications. Ear length increased by 0,1–1,1 cm (1,6–17,2%) depending on the level of intensity of the crop cultivation technology. The highest value of this parameter was received when N40P40K40 was applied in combination with additional feeding of N30 and the application of biostimulants, which exceeded the control by 15,6%. The most variable parameter was the number of grains per ear, which increased by 8,8–27,6 % under the influence of mineral fertilization and increased protection. Foliar applications of potassium humate and the Yarylo “Super Nitrogen” preparation further increased the number of grains per ear by 3,0–14,9 %. Отримані результати підтверджують доцільність інтегрованого підходу до формування продуктивності ячменю ярого шляхом поєднання оптимального удобрення, захисту рослин і біостимуляції. The obtained results confirm the effectiveness of an integrated method for improving spring barley productivity by combining optimal fertilization, plant protection, and biostimulation
