The article highlights the scientific work of the Panfilsk research station of the Institute of Agriculture of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences in the period 1991–2001 on the creation of an information product for the agricultural sector of the agrarian industry of Ukraine. The main tasks performed by the institution during the research period: organizational and economic provision of conditions for conducting scientific research on the effective use of drained organic soils of the Forest Steppe of Ukraine, testing and finalizing scientific developments, their introduction into agricultural production, as well as the cultivation of elite seeds and the first reproduction of cereals and potatoes , fodder beets and other crops. An important direction was the study of methods and methods of increasing the efficiency of the open drainage network and various types of drainage. Research results were widely used in the design of many drainage networks.
It was found that the basis of the received information product was the results of scientific research of the institution's staff, which were reflected in sources that differ in the form of information presentation, based on the expected nature of its subsequent use. The main directions of the research activities of the scientific staff of the research station within the scope of solving the general problem of increasing the efficiency of agricultural use of drained lands of the Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine have been specified. The systematization and classification of both the scientific topics of the institution's intelligence during the period 1991–2001, as well as the information product produced by its employees during this chronological period, was carried out, with an assessment of the degree of relevance of the results of the relevant scientific work today. The station's work experience during the researched period shows that domestic scientists of that time had sufficient potential and enthusiasm for quality indicators of research work to ensure highly efficient use of permanently drained soils. Therefore, it is important to assess the contribution of the Panfilsk Research Station to the information provision of the branches of domestic agro-industrial production.
The methodological basis of this study is the general scientific principles of historical reliability, scientific objectivity, systematicity and continuity, which ensure a comprehensive coverage of the chosen problem
