Abstract

The work is aimed at substantiating the impact of agroclimatic factors on the formation of quality parameters of technical grape varieties in the conditions of the western forest-steppe of Ukraine and identifying areas for their adaptation of the growing technology. The effect of temperature regime, precipitation, the sum of active temperatures, and solar radiation on the biochemical indices of berries, such as sugar content, acidity, and phenolic components that affect the processing suitability of grape raw materials, has been reviewed. It has been found that climate elements are interrelated and more complex when they create the development environment for the plant and determine the product quality. Variability of agroclimatic indicators within the Western Forest-Steppe has been shown to mandate adoption of agrotechnology of grape cultivation. The feasibility of rationalizing the varietal structure, controlling the water/light regimes, and utilizing agrotechnical practices conducive to enhanced vineyard tolerance to climate change was demonstrated. The synthesis of results led to the identification of essential strategies for enhancing berry quality and maintaining yield stability under climate variability, which act as enablers for sustainable viticulture in the region
