Abstract

The results of an assessment of winter triticale collection samples based on grain yield, environmental plasticity (bi), and stability (Si2) during 2021–2025 are presented. Average yields varied from 5.52 t/ha (2024) to 6.68 t/ha (2025). The most favorable conditions were observed in 2023 and 2025 (environmental indices
of +0.62 and +0.66, respectively). The varieties were categorized into three groups based on their adaptability. Highly plastic (intensive) samples (bi > 1.5) – Sybyrskyi, Desyatynne, Dinaro, and Khlibodar zymuiuchyi – maximize grain productivity in favorable years. Moderately plastic samples (bi = 0.8–1.4) – Mayak, Bozhych, Svyatozar, Remiko, and Sergyi – exhibited a linear relationship between yield levels and changing environmental conditions, indicating high adaptability to typical growing environments. Samples with low plasticity (bi < 0.7), including Bohodarske, Salto, Buket, and Yaroslava, demonstrated high resistance to stress factors. The highest stability (Si2 < 1.5) was observed in Hermes, Nikanor, Dinaro, Navarro, and Aliko. Conversely, the varieties Uragan, Yaroslava, and Strateg showed low predictability of results (Si2 > 7.0). The most promising genotypes combining high productivity with environmental stability (Hermes, Nikanor, Salto) were identified. These findings are fundamental for breeding programs in selecting parental components to develop adaptive winter triticale varieties capable of maintaining productivity amidst climatic instability.
