Abstract

The method of retrospective analysis based on the data of primary zootechnical accounting evaluated the indicators of milk productivity (reliability for the first three lactations, the highest rate of return, respectively, the amount of milk fat and protein), as well as for the entire period of economic use (the number of lactations during life, lifetime returns, the amount of milk fat and protein produced) cows, born in TzOV «Litynske» during 1990–2018 and in FG «Pchany-Denkovych» – 2009–2020. An electronic database has been created that contains information on the origin and productivity of 734 cows in TzOV «Litynske» and 290 cows in FG «Pchany-Denkovych». It was established that in the conditions of the foothill zone of the Carpathian region, local Holstein cows × Simmental were characterized by higher precocity (the age of the first mating was 18.9 months against 24.2 and 27.5 in purebred Simmental, higher milk yields than the first and second lactations by 11–38 %, but significantly shorter duration of economic use (2.7 lactations against 4.6 and 5.4 lactations against purebred Simmental) and 20–41 % lower lifetime milk yield. The age of the first fertile insemination has been found to be negatively correlated with the amount of nade per first lactation, and there is some positive relationship between the level of nade per first lactation and the length of the service period after the first calving (correlation coefficient within 0.299–0.491). There is a low negative relationship between the amount of milk yield per first lactation and lifetime milk yield (r= -0132–-0.305), suggesting that the more productive first-born cows were likely to be marked by shorter duration of economic use
