The article presents the results of a comprehensive assessment of potato varieties and interspecific hybrids across different maturity groups in terms of resistance to late blight (causative agent: Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary) and productivity under conditions in the Western Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The purpose of the study is to determine potato varieties and hybrids by yield in relation to the soil and climatic conditions of the Western Forest-Steppe of Ukraine, as well as to assess their resistance to late blight - one of the most common and harmful fungal diseases of crops. According to the phytopathological assessment of the studied varieties, Mavka and Mirami were characterized by average susceptibility (4-5 points) to the late blight pathogen. The mid-ripening varieties Legenda and Soborna showed average resistance (6 points). A high level of resistance (7 points) was established in the medium-late varieties Chervona Ruta and Oksamyt-99. The highest resistance indicators (7–8 points) were recorded among late-ripening interspecific hybrids, which indicates the presence of genetically determined immunity to late blight. The proportion of healthy tubers in the studied varieties and hybrids ranged from 94.5–99.6%, while the level of late blight infection decreased with increasing growing-season duration. Productivity analysis showed that the highest yields were obtained from medium-late varieties and some interspecific hybrids, in particular the Chervona Ruta variety and the 90.694/67 hybrid. The results obtained confirm that maturity group is an essential factor in the development of disease resistance and potato yield, and the use of medium-late varieties and late-ripening interspecific hybrids reduces phytosanitary risks and increases the efficiency of crop cultivation
