Spring soft wheat is an important strategic crop that produces high-quality grain during a short growing season; therefore, optimizing the crop management system is crucial for achieving high and stable yields and grain quality. The aim of the study was to identify the characteristics of protein content formation in the grain of spring soft wheat varieties depending on foliar fertilization and the application of fungicides under the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The study was conducted using a two-factor design: Factor
A – spring soft wheat varieties Oksamyt Myronivskyi and Dubravka; Factor B – foliar fertilization and fungicide application. In treatments 2–5, the fungicides Amistar Extra 280 SC (0.6 L/ha) and Elatus Ria 358 SC (0.5 L/ha) and foliar fertilization with urea (7 kg/ha), magnesium sulfate (1 kg/ha) and Nutrivant Plus Grain (2 kg/ha) were applied at the tillering stage (BBCH 21–23). In treatments 7–10, the first foliar fertilization and fungicide application were carried out at the tillering stage (BBCH 21–23), with a repeat application at the ear formation and development stage (BBCH 41–45). On average over 2024–2025, the highest protein content in spring soft wheat grain (13.54 %) was observed in the Dubravka variety after two applications of the fungicide Elatus Ria 358 SC and foliar fertilization with urea + magnesium sulfate + Nutrivant Plus Grain at the tillering stage (BBCH 21–23) and the ear formation and development stage (BBCH 41–45). With this treatment regimen, combining fungicide application and foliar fertilization, protein content increased significantly by
1.49 percentage points compared with the control (two water applications at the corresponding growth stages, treatment 6). Under the same treatment, the Oksamyt Myronivskyi variety achieved a protein content of 13.13 %, which was significantly lower than that of the Dubravka variety by 0.41 percentage points but significantly higher than the control by 1.44 percentage points.
