The article is devoted to the study of the influence of a high-protein grain crop – triticale (variety Poliske 7) when it is introduced in the form of grits into compound feed for young rabbits of the Termon breed, on their growth intensity, morphological and biochemical indicators of blood in the period from the 50th to the 100th day of life. 5 groups were selected, 10 heads in each. The control group received granulated standard full-ration compound feed ad libitum. Experimental groups – I, II, III and IV were fed combined feed, in which oat and barley grains were replaced by triticale grain at the rate of 100, 50, 25 and 12.5 %, respectively. It was established that the introduction of triticale grain in amounts of 50 and 12.5 % to the granulated compound feed slightly increased the content of erythrocytes in the blood of animals of the II and IV experimental groups, and a tendency to increase the number of leukocytes in all experimental groups compared to the control group. The content of the albumin fraction in the blood plasma of rabbits of the IV group was probably higher by 9.4 % compared to the control. The calcium-phosphorus ratio in the II and IV experimental groups was 11.5 and
10.1 % higher, respectively, compared to the control, and the average for the experimental groups of rabbits was 2.19 : 1–2.65 : 1, which indicates the absence of deviations during the intake and assimilation of Calcium and Phosphorus in the body. Optimizing the main ration by replacing the grain group of compound feed with triticale grits of the Poliske 7 variety led to an increase in their productivity: the live weight of individuals at the age of 100 days increased in the II group (50 % replacement) by 4.1 %, and in the IV (12.5 % replacement) – by 4.5 %. They also had a higher mean daily gain relative to control.
