The article discusses the possibilities of using remote sensing technologies in combination with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for a comprehensive assessment of the phytosanitary status of grain sorghum agrocenoses. The feasibility of using multi- and hyperspectral satellite data (Sentinel-2, Landsat, PlanetScope) in combination with highly detailed UAV images is justified. A comparative analysis of the spatial, spectral, and temporal resolution of satellite platforms and drone sensors is presented. The informativeness of vegetation indices (NDVI, NDWI, MCARI, RENDVI) was investigated, which showed high sensitivity to abiotic (drought, nutrient deficiency) and biotic (disease damage, pests) stresses. The results of long-term observations
(2022–2025) showed a correlation between spectral indicators and field measurement data, confirming the diagnostic potential of remote sensing in sorghum monitoring. The conceptual model of satellite and unmanned technology integration provides multi-level monitoring of crops from the global to the local level. It has been established that the use of UAVs significantly increases the accuracy of localizing phytostress foci, while satellite images ensure the systematicity and regularity of observations. The integration of remote methods with ground surveys allows for more reliable diagnostics and justifies adaptive crop protection measures. The application of this approach creates a basis for optimizing resource use, reducing pesticide load and increasing the efficiency of agricultural technologies. The results obtained prove the promise of combining satellite and unmanned monitoring as a tool for precision farming and ensuring the sustainability of grain sorghum agroecosystems in the context of climate change.
